Hello Madilings! Madi again - we’re at an exciting moment as we approach Pride’s eve. I want to thank every one of you for subscribing, sharing, posting, and talking about me and the cal - we broke over 100 people this year! Thank you to the venues who communicated and were so kind to me. Thank you! Even when I am so tired, I am smiling. This year, the calendar should be a lot more streamlined, but if anyone has any issues feel free to DM me. Let’s get to it! If you’re new here, check out the deets here
THE CALENDAR IS HERE!!!! SCROLL DOWN!! Making this calendar, I’ve decided to do an ADDTTIONAL UPDATE ON June 7th (check your emails then too!) as a lot of venues still aren’t ready yet - And there’s so much on this calendar! I will say some boroughs and areas have a lot more things to do than others, and I am just one Madi. There’s things from every borough, Long Island, and Jersey here. So to that I say - start your own hangout! Make a lil dance party in your local park - it’s possible! At the end of the day, no matter where you are, a small gathering or large, there is something so special about us weirdos meeting up together. I know you feel it in your heart, too. I think that’s my favorite thing about June.
It was a labor of love finding everything and researching, so I hope you enjoy what I’ve found. In a way, I feel like a lesbian Robin Hood. If I do this more frequently, I’m thinking of a Halloween calendar. Genuinely, let me know if that’s a good idea. You know where to find me!
NOW… ONTO THE CALENDAR!
Alright, so something I failed to notice with stinky GCAL is that the color coding does not transfer. All my beautiful color coding.. GONE. SHARED MPC IS NOT COLOR CODED. I will show an example of what you guys were robbed of. I’m sorry in advance if it looks crazy. All events have an abbreviated marker of location, so it’ll still be easy to eyeball event locations. (Example BX: Bronx Pride Picnic)
I’m pretty sure you can change the colors but.. LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFULLY COLOR CODED!!!! GONE!! GOOGLE CALENDAR PLEASE FIX THIS. Also when I update on June 13, it’ll be the same calendar, but I’m just emailing to let y’all know. The email will still have calendar instructions for people who just subscribed to the newsletter.
BUT NOW THAT THIS IS OUT OF THE WAY…. DRUMROLL PLEASE…. IT’S CALENDAR TIME!!! ROLL OUT THE LINK!
SORRY! Google Calendar sharing is very simple but tricky if you don’t know how sharing works! So here are some instructions THAT YOU SHOULD READ:
Make sure you have the Google Calendar app downloaded on your phone. If you’re on a computer, you’re fine as long as you have a google calendar linked to one of your emails.
It’ll be easier to open this on a browser that you have your email already signed into for some reason, so make sure that you’re signed in on your phone’s safari or your chrome app. Probably open this email in your browser too. (Press the compass on the bottom right on iphone)
Then….. (You can enlarge this image by clicking it if need to)
The same instructions apply if you’re on a computer, just hit the + button. Yippee!
Also (& very importantly) on mobile when you click on an individual day there are two ways to see the schedule - you can toggle it by clicking the date as below. There is also a video of this on my Instagram highlights section “madi pride cal II”
Be sure to check the event details by clicking each event. The event details will always have an event description, event page link, age restrictions, price, accessibility info, and info on if it’s indoors/outdoors. If the event is an event specifically for a specific community (BIPOC, Trans people, etc) or has any masking protocols that will be on the top of the event details section. It will not be mentioned otherwise.
AND NOW THE LINK!
You’re ready! Happy pride and have fun! MPC will always be a Pride thing but please tell me if you want a Halloween Calendar. And tell me about this one! MPC will always be free but I take donations - no pressure! But the venmo is @/maderoooni….. Okay I can’t write anymore. My party playlist, Madilomania, is linked below. Okay LOL happy pride!
All the best,
Madi
